Alderman David Moore
David Moore was elected as the alderman for the 17th Ward in 2015, campaigning to provide the South Side community with the constituency services it rightfully deserves. For Moore, the phrase "Vision, values, voice" signifies his commitment to investing in the ward, its principles, and representing residents within city government.
He built a successful career in accounting within the private sector at various Fortune 500 companies, as well as with the Chicago Department of Aviation and Housing Authority. Additionally, he served as an assistant to the commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review, where he coordinated the Faith-based Community Initiative. Moore's experience in the public sector has given him insight into nearly all facets of government management, equipping him with hands-on skills in cost-benefit analysis, strategic planning, leading interagency teams, and assessing the impact initiatives in urban renewal, affordable housing, land use, public works, and transportation.
