
Jana Williams
Jana Williams is the Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chicago’s Department of Water Management and oversees the department’s procurement team. In her role, Jana leads the management of hundreds of active agreements with a five-year contractual amount of approximately $1,000,000,000, and she directs contract administration activities to ensure the equitable acquisition of goods and services.
Her key initiatives are promoting efforts to increase contracting opportunities with diverse suppliers and increasing contract opportunities for Disadvantaged-Owned Business Enterprises (DBE), Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (VBE). Jana also works to increase contracting opportunities through the Small Business Initiative (SBI) Construction Program and the Mid-Sized Business Initiative (MBI) Construction Program.
Jana’s overall goal is to proactively cultivate small businesses, highlight contracting opportunities to build generational wealth, and ensure the Department of Water Management’s vendor pool reflects the rich diversity of Chicago’s neighborhoods.
