Katherine Au, P.E.

Katherine Au, PE (Kat) is a materials engineer/quality assurance professional at Jacobs.  She is passionate about giving back to the community through her contributions in various professional organizations.  She started the Illinois Asian American Civil Engineers (IAACE) non-profit organization as a way to guide younger engineers and students of Asian descent by showing them how to advocate for themselves as well as provide resources to help them grow in their careers.  In the first two years, Kat and her team quickly grew the organization and established themselves in the industry.  IAACE hosted events that attracted a diverse group of engineers and received support from both clients and consultants. 

 

In addition to IAACE, Kat has been involved in the ASCE IL Section- Construction Institute (CI) for several years and is now the Past Chair.  Under her leadership, CI has increased their event attendance as well as attracted new members to get involved. Kat is currently a member of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation-Professional Engineer board, aiming to make pathways for those with foreign degrees less complicated.  She looks forward to working alongside the others on the Pinpoint Scholars Foundation's board and bringing her experience to continue helping the next generation.
